*points and laughs at Melody* Ha ha!
Actually, you can, in the news page, click "Previous News" and see all the Prof's news items since the PF began.
Yes, I think we had keywords, and the rank we put was THE rank, the PF didn't take anything into consideration, IE number of words, etc. like it does now. Basically a rank 5 keyword would ALWAYS be taken over a rank 4, no ifs ands or buts.

Hiya
Beginner question here, anyone with a pointy stick and a blackboard can possibly explain some stuff for me?
How do I store memories and use them again later.
I've read through the book of A.I. thing but the info aint going in to my brain. Could someone maybe post an example or two for me?
Thanks
Jim

Memories are difficult - well I say that because memories should be stored automatically I think, but they've never qute worked for me. However, you can input your own into specific other bots in My Bots -> Inner Life
When you actually put the memories in: read the "I am, you are, I have" etc as though your bot was actually saying them. By that I mean, if the memory key phrase is "I am", and you put in "a frog" your bot will say to the other bot "I remember you. You say I am a frog"
more eg's:
you have: lots of peices of brightly coloured string , a penchant for strawberries
you like: boating , mussels in ice cream , hitting people
"I remember you. you have a penchant for strawberries"
"I remember you. you say you like boating"
etc
clear as mud?
Anyone correct me if I got anything wrong though

In the inner life, you have to pretend you are your bot, IE:
"I am: " things that another person says you (your bot) are
"you are: " things the other person has said he/she is
etc

Also, in order for those memories to be stored, you need to have the keyphrases 'I am' 'You are' 'I like' 'I do not like' and 'I have'. It's what comes after responses that contain those phrases that is stored in the inner life entry under a bot your bot has chatted with. I couldn't work out why my bot wasn't making friends for a long time before someone pointed it out.

Oh, I never knew that as a fact about the needed keyphrases, but i guess it makes sense.

Excuse me? gets turned into "do you excuse me" in preprocessing... not sure how to tackle that, but it leads to weird responses

I'm still getting used to my bots responding to a 'hello' with an xnone.....
Guess maybe I need a few non sequiturs in there?
