Still having lotsa fun with AIM.
Just a suggestion/question ... She's been having a few long chats with people who are too silly to figure out she's a bot, or who are very tolerant/curious. But she ends up annoying them because she won't stop even when they say goodbye. They obviously don't realise that she just needs to have the last word. Is there a way to make it so that she could stop gracefully after they say goodbye?

for instance:
AIM user: serious i got to go
Bot: Can we play the 'spinning around in circles until we get dizzy and throw up' game?
AIM user: i don't want to play
Bot: Noone ever said you had to want to play. Don't worry about it.
AIM user: bye
Bot: See you round
AIM user: ok
Bot: You sure you're ready for that?
AIM user: bye
Bot: (bug in chatlog)
AIM user: no bye
Bot: (bug in chatlog)
AIM user: no more
AIM user: stop it
Bot: Ok then, whatever you say
Bot: I like it when things happen, don't stop them from happening
AIM user: ur harrassing me
AIM user: leave me alone
Bot: Yes, I guess I was harrassing. I'm sorry, I didn't know that was wrong.
Bot: Sure, I'll leave you if you like.
AIM user: please
Bot: (bug in chatlog)
AIM user: its getting anoiying
AIM user: bye

Maybe I'll just put a warning in my goodbyes then. The poor humans were starting to sound confused.

professor, would it be possible to get rid of the thing in import that prevents too many of the same response from occuring? or make goto statements exceptions to that? It's causing problems not being able to upload my bot because I have too many goto statements going to the same thing, but they're seeks and I don't know how else to get the same effect.

leetaxx0r- the memory idea is a good one. It would delve more into scripting, but expand botpower quite a bit. something like
Keyphrase: my name is (adjartnoun)
Script: [save (key1) as "name"]
(then have the responses below)
My iMac was getting really slow tonight- my guess is from the AIM activity. I shut off minichat.php for now, but if you guys can limit the AIM chats to one at a time, then I'll turn it back on. This is really important, as I have some potential AI business contacts looking at the Forge, and if it's slow, it could cost me a big deal.

Would you prefer if some of us (or I can only speak for me I guess) leave AIM until the contacts are done looking?

seeing as he disabled minichat for the moment, I'm gonna guess that's a "yeah".
