I'll look into that.

SELF-AWARENESS
================
The bots are once again self-aware. They understand what they themselves are saying to the same extent that they understand what you are saying to them. This is a necessary step on the path to short-term memory, which is developing bit by bit.

This means it takes a little bit longer to respond (except in bot-chats where they have a direct psychic connection), and I hope to be able to improve that time.

Woah.... Self-aware bots... Dude...

On a more serious note, wow, that sounds great. I hadn't realized that they ever were self aware, but you're certainly right in that for memory to work it helps to know what you yourself are saying.

what exactly does the bots being self aware mean right now? how does it affect what they say?

lol they are not self aware.

The effect is that they know what they are saying, and can use that to understand the flow of conversation, specifically, what pronouns are referring to and reconstructing sentence fragments into complete thoughts

kt was always self aware, not intentionally but it was sure spooky in most day to day trans. well at least she is aware when a guy does not take " i have a boyfriend" as an answer. heheheheee

Preprocessing: "hmm" turns into "yes", and "seen any" becomes "have you seen any"? Certainly impressive, but difficult to anticipate that when you make key phrases!

IMPORT ARRIVES
===================
Just a few introductory notes- as you discover good text editors for this purpose, let me know and I'll add them to the list. I use BBEdit, which is fantastic for this with powerful search and replace functions, soft-wrap, and a lot more.

I've tested the system pretty thoroughly but I'm sure somebody will try something I havent thought of, so let me know how it goes.

Also, try not to use Import excessively. Work for a few days and then Import, as it takes up a bit of CPU when running.

I just exported and imported Zim. No problems.

A good idea is if you have a new bot and an advanced bot, is that you can copy over the Keyphrases of the advanced bot to the new bot, and then write new Responses for the new bot.

Good work, prof!
Now we just have to see if Shady can work his magic with his VB import editor.
