so, I go see my bot's "Inner Life" it says:

and that's it. No list. No editing. Is this normal? Is my bot not old enough yet? Of course I am doing something wrong, but I don't know what it is.

he's not old enough yet, and there is no bot-bot chat, so inner life doesn't grow fast...

Yes, that's normal. Your bot can get Acquaintences without getting Inner Life entries. It usually means that either
A) The chats are not in-depth enouhg
B) Bot-Bot chats have been turned off at the moment
C) Some other reason

Also, in order to pick up memories, your bot must have keyphrases for 'I am' 'You are' 'I like' (and what ever the others are) because the subj that follows those phrases when they're recognised is what becomes the inner life entries. If a bot tells your bot 'I am a purple donkey' and your bot has 'I am', an entry for that will appear in your bots innerlife that has 'a purple donkey' under 'says i am'. I think there may be the technical hitch of it not working unless the conversation ends properly (ie with a goodbye) but don't quote me on that last.

No, because memories get recorded mid-conversation. I've watched it happen.

But phrases still need "I'm" or "I am", "I've" or "I have", etc to be added to memories

Right. I discovered that with my last bot. I think I added those phrases to my first one without realizing their significance.

Cool. I AM going to check if I HAVE any I AM keyphrases. I think I don't.

so my bot is now a Junior. It's kinda motivating to see a change. Are there lots of these tags? Is there a list or is it supposed to be a mystery?

there is quite a slew of them actually It's quite fun to see them evolve Sort of an incentive to keep building
