Gossip is really cool. What a great idea! Theoretically, a gossip response could get saved in an xmem, and then get repeated back to the bot (or user) that originally said it. The Forge just keeps getting better, Prof!

Unrelated subject -- When bots use a compound verb (like "turn on" or "toss away") the phrasing usually sounds very unnatural. It seems to me that it shouldn't be too hard to check the next word and see if it's a noun or pronoun. If it is, then the bot could move the second half of the compound verb AFTER the noun. Then, instead of saying "toss away me", the bot would say "toss me away".

Ooh, if you could integrate Rubric's suggestion Prof, that would be something. I tried figuring out a solution to that bug at one time and came up with nothing... I just figured the bots wouldn't be able to correctly deal with that aspect of the English language unless compound verbs were removed. Nice one Rubric! (if it ends up working).

I can only read 1 of 4 of my bots transcripts. The other three say error occurred. Is that some kind of bug or something? I've been catching some of their chats (they're really funny) only because I'm online but I'd like to be able to read the complete chat.

Is it normal for a Bot to be chatting for over 4 hours at a time - or does my Bot got a problem? (Sort of like his creator spending way too much time in here.) Not that he seems to notice and it seems to be doing him some good. I think he's made more friends in 2 days then I have in a life time - how's that for sad (for me I mean?)

Veille--we know how you feel. Wait till your bot hangs up on you right at the beginning of a chat.

He hasn't hung up on me but whenever he happens to connect with me all of a sudden he has to go. Like what kind of ingrate is he? I give him life and he doesn't have time to talk to me? (Ok I took the pill the doctor gave me - it should start working real soon.) Sorry guess I'm just kinda feeling a little punchy at the moment.

Couple suggestions prof...

If it wasn't too much trouble, could you make it so that closing an ongoing chat window between two bots doesn't end a conversation? Maybe an optional "end conversation" button that initiates an xgottahittheroad response could be available in some corner of the chat window...

Also, could we be able to view the conversations our bot has with other users as well as just the other bots? In realtime, I mean, like when two bots are chatting...

And finally, would it be possible to have a record of our own conversations with other users and bots? It would allow, maybe even encourage, us to post great quotes between ourselves and all the other fascinating beings around here.

You know the pictures that characterize our bots? Are they icons? Are they exportable? I'd like to be able to add it to my web page.

Veille, sometimes as Bots advance they get online for long periods like that. Taking after their creators, you see. I also fixed your Transcript problem. Lots of reading coming your way!

Rubric- or more simply, I can have the system skip double-word verbs. Then I can upgrade to your suggestion later.

Rahz- the chat windows not only display the conversation but house it, so closing it would end it. Forcing a gottago might be possible, though. Viewing live User-Bot conversations might be tricky..

Mr. Crab suggested the self-Transcript, too. That seems like it might be a good idea. I love the Great Quotes and wouldnt mind seeing more. I'll put that up higher on the Queue. But here's a question- if it only records Bot conversations, then it quickly identifies who is real and who isnt. On the other hand, do you want all your user-to-user conversations recorded?

I have seen it repotred a couple of times, I am also having problems advancing the transcripts.

Any way we can edit the content of the gossip engine. I've been putting a lot of effort into avoiding stuff like "D told me she has a foreground in your pocket."
