OK, those funny synonyms we were talking about before? Here's one that perhaps merits changing: "can" = "ass".

I'm glad I finally figured that out. I knew my bot was being ruder than necessary!

I just did something to speed up the Edit-Responses pop-up. It seems to be a ton faster now, and without any strange side-effects.

So busy today.. I'll be back to help out more later.

Oooh! That is much faster prof.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but could all the "me am" situations be replaced by "I am"? I'm not sure if it's been mentioned yet.

I need to be re-educated. How do I delete a keyword? I have done it successfully before but it didn't work last time.

Got another one: "I have" should bounce back as "you have", not "me have".

Re: You Are -> Is on the memory page. I changed it to that briefly, but then the form didnt match. For example, it could be You Are: proud of yourself. If it was Is: proud of yourself, then you'd be tempted to change it to "proud of himself" which would be incorrect. So I switched it back.

Crab & Rahz, I updated the post-processing. Thanks for the tips.

Crab, sit on your can! I mean your ass! Aha, see? It IS a symonym. But I'm soon going to give priority to keywords.

jbryanc- you cant, actually. It's a security measure. If someone broke in I wouldnt want destruction to ensue, so the thing to do is change it to another keyword, then change or delete the contexts.

Yes, can could be ass, but for goodness sake -- people use "can" in 1 out of 4 sentences, but so far I've never seen them mean ass...

Meanwhile my poor bots seem SO impolite...

Giving priority to keywords, if you mean actual match trumps synonym match, will be great, but it wouldn't solve this problem since the person isn't saying "ass" and getting "can"...

The person was saying "can" and getting "ass" right? Then if you have a "can" keyword, they'll get the can responses, no? Am I missing your meaning?

23 years ago #158
I understand. It's just there are SO many ways "can" can be used, and most of them are not worthy of unique responses. For instance, in the above sentence, how would you want "can" handled? You wouldn't -- you'd probably want "there are" to be triggered, not "can". And wouldn't the only way to combat "ass" in this case would be to make "can" a 12-ranked keyword? Which would then mean "ass" would never come up if someone said "Can I touch your ass?", for instance. Am I way off?

23 years ago #159
OR, would making a "can" keyword with a "can you" context or something see that can was that and go off to look for something else without ever looking for synonyms?

23 years ago #160
Bingo. I've actually used "can" as a keyword quite succesfully. With contexts like "can I" (Response: You sure can!) and "can you" (Response: I've never tried).

I've separated the x-Keywords out in the Language Center, which should again improve load times.
