Can we shorten the length of “good quotes”? I am sure the submitter wants to be in The Book but some are getting sooooo long!

What kind of limits do you suggest we impose?

I second Miss Mouse's motion. Not just length, but quantity ... Try to post something only when it's either really funny (like, LMAO or ROFL, not LOL... or better still, ROFLMAO), or really amazingly cool.

I'm all for the idea, too, it's just that it's hard to make rules based on a matter of opinion. We can define a quantity, but the quality of the quotes is an abstract concept that's a little trickier to regulate. It may be easier to skip any posts that don't seem interesting. Some of the longer quotes from yesterday and the day before were really good- Duo, Steve Slacker and Fizzy Schizoid, for example, had some very entertaining conversations, and I didn't get the impression that their botmasters were straining from the effort.
But if length is the real issue, since it's really the only enforceable one, that's easy. So, what length should we restrict posts to?

Regarding quote length, sometimes you get great one-liners, and sometimes the whole convo is excellent, or needed to make a later part make sense. Yes, I sometimes get tired of the longer quotes, but no one's forcing me to read them. So I don't see a reason for a specific limit. Especially since some of the long ones are great reads!
