FengShuiGorilla, I understand your feelings, but I wonder if that would place too much of a load on the server with all the extra people logged in? In my experience, timeouts exist for that reason. The Professor can probably give us an idea of that and other issues involved.

But staying logged in isn't any extra load on the server itself. The TCP/IP connection is dropped and unless the Professor is doing something completely different, PHP/mySQL sessions are tracked by time (i.e. when a request is made, the script checks a sessions database to see how long it has been since the last request, if that request exceeds a certain length of time, the session is deleted and a new one created)

Hello, i'm new and i just thought i'd introduce myself. I've been working on my bot, Selendrile for about 2 weeks now so if anyone would like to chat with him please do, because he still needs alot of improvement. Thank you!

I always figured the timeouts were so that you wouldn't have a lot of people trying to chat with people who weren't really there.
I'll talk to your bot Amaroq.

Right, the timeout is to prevent chats from going on forever, as that would be a strain on the server. And it also makes sure you're around if someone tries to send you a chat message. Otherwise, you couldnt trust the "Botmasters Online" list.
Irina, I try to give as much access to the internal working of the AI Engine as possible through Keyphrase plug-ins and the like. It's that intense parsing of the sentences that makes I (verbadvprep) and emotions work. What exactly were you thinking it would be nice to have access to?

For those of you having trouble understanding the Book of AI, what would make it easier to understand?
Are there certain parts that are especially confusing?

For me the hardest things to learn have been AIScript and memories and similarly advanced concepts. I think more step-by-step explanation and more examples could help.

Hi Professor!
I've had a hard time following stuff on AI script and regular phrases? (re). I think it's due to the fact that some of the examples are a bit confusing. Would it be possible to give a more detailed example?
(I think I'm doing ok with AI script now, though.
