Bot Contest

I check email every day hoping for some kind of clarification. I've asked them simple questions like what time of day the thing at Scitrek is going on, and whether it matters who talked to your bot (like does it have to be a total stranger), and no one has said anything. They can decide whatever they like, but I
(with TOTAL RESPECT, of course ) wish they would let us know the latest.

stand alone we need your application to be sent
to us ASAP so it can be considered for the finals.

semi-final event?

I wrote back to them, and am awaiting (and have been for over a week) confirmation that the Loebner chat page I made is integrating with their system correctly. Tomorrow is the deadline, so I hope to hear from them soon.

Gah! Check this out. Joy wrote me an email about when the event was, and I decided to find out once and for all, as it's almost upon us. I went to the SciTrek web site (scitrek.org) and looked through their calendar and browsed through their special events and special exhibits and there was not even a mention of the Loebner Prize. So I called them and listened to their phone message with all upcoming events, and again nothing on the Loebner, so I spoke to several people and found out that the Loebner Prize is NOT being held at SciTrek. At this point I was at least glad they'd heard of it.

But shoddy shoddy. Not the "highly publicized" well-organized event we had been led to believe. I got the name of the person to talk to, Christine Scarborough. I'll call her now.

I left a message. I'll post again when I find something out. This lack of information is really unkind to the participants. What if people are planning on traveling to Atlanta to see the semi-final event? When were they planning on telling us that it's been moved or that it's not taking place?

What if it's taking place in some guy's living room?
