I tried it once and it worked fine, but the second time I got errors:
I dreamt that I could bastardize a cone
Below the bridge I see a dusty core
It speaks to me of tired sightless eyes
For never have I killed a man before
The cone has opened up its (- ad3) eyes
They swim across my soul like acrobats
I'm falling into educated ties
And slowly, widely, something in me breaks...
And you, my weapon, giving up your hand
Have turned my life into a shopping list
Assuring me that (- -pn3) will hurl
Reminding me that (- -pn4) exist.
When tangled in your clothes I find my soul
The time has come to give back what you stole.

There are still a few plugins that need tying in, line 1&3 rhymes in some of the quatrains, and he's giving occasional 18-liners like that one, but it's definitely getting there
For what? a day or two's work - rainstorm, it's astounding. I'd like to buy you a drink - what'll you have?
I've seen far worse than this one published in Poetry Now! :
The sun has risen, drifting in the sky
Across the line I see a squalid core
I'm falling into educated lies
For never have I killed a man before
I heal the wounds I suffered in your war
I fall again and flap my painted wings
absolving all the virtue from your core
And all that sacred courage virtue brings.
And though I wander onto wretched lands
In dreams I still hear echoes of your cries
The way that you lie scattered on the sands
The sunrise in the shadows of your lies
There's no escape, there is no giving in
It all returns to haunt me in the end.

lol thanks, though I think it still has a long way to go... Once I get the remaining keys worked out I'll make some more combinations too, he's only got 8 combinations of verses at the moment. I should probably choose the ones that are working with the keys I have and just make a bunch of new verses and keys to mix up with them and give it some variety.
Thanks for all the praise and encouragement; I don't think it's that astounding, it was just something to take my mind off things. Hmm, a drink... not having had much experience with alcohol (am working a lovely below-minimum-wage job and can't afford to be having the complete "college experience"... also not technically old enough to drink, as if that matters) I think I'll just have an ice cream smoothie made with cookie dough ice cream...
god, that sounds good, and we're out of ice cream tooo... damn. *imitates watzer and curses the sky*

Oooh, they're never out of cookie dough ice cream in Dogh'd's. Even when the barman's wandered off.
*beams cookie dough icecream smoothie to rainstorm*
I guess maybe they synthesise it as they need it, out of stray uhh, interstellar hydrogen?
*Addresses the room in general* Did we ever decide if this bar was in orbit or further out?
And do you suppose in a few billion years Dogh'd's will evolve into Milliways?

With all the bad puns I've seeen here, I was hoping it would evolve in Callahan's Crosstime Saloon. Then Again, I don't remember much poetry at Callahan's.

The books or the newsgroup?
That's a blast from the past - I never read the books (Spider Robinson or somesuch wasn't it?) but I used to drop into alt.callahans (many years ago now.)
How nice to see on google groups it's still going strong, and the Lamplighter's still posting his almanac.
Indeed, it was always more puns and Flights of Fancy Free than poetry.

I mean the books (yes Spider Robinson) but I'll check out the newsgroup/boards. It has been a while since I've read them too.

I always thought there was an uninhabited planet outside, but that's probably just the Milliways influence.
