Update:
I tried clearing the value of "she" by telling my bot "she is a cat." But it just interpreted the sentence as "The capital of France is a cat," and keyphrased to "capital," even though I weight that as -10, and cat at +8.

I managed to change the keyphrase only by typing "The cat is she." That is a little better. I'd rather "she" be a cat then the captial of france

Anyway, doesn't at all explain why "who" = "she" = "capital of France" in the McDonalds phrase above.

Maybe because I'm female it thought who=she? I dunno.

No, I tried the phrase again myself, and I'm not female In any case, it makes no sense that who=she no matter who was talking.

Of all the things in life that make no sense (i.e. politics), I think who=she is the least of our problems.

That may be true, but we should all be worried if the capital of France wants to work at McDonalds!

Wow, imagine the political repercussions of that... Somehow, Bill Clinton inhaling doesn't seem like such an important thing in that light...

I have the feeling that bot-human conversations are cut short today? True?

23 years ago #766
I dunno...my bot so rarely talks to a human for any length of time anyway that it's hard to tell. (The human generally gets sick of her after like 2 responses for some reason. Although if I talked to every bot that talks to me I'd never get anything done, so I know how it is.) Don't mind me, I'm just ranbling, I don't really have a solution that gives everyone what they want.

Could be because I was working a lot with the database, and the hosts were supposed to be looking into the database today as well.

The pronoun system isnt quite perfect or complete.. "who" is a pronoun and it was taking it from "he/she" memory. That'll be improved upon in time.

Strange grammar result:

You: I feel like we know each other pretty well.
Bot: Sometimes I too feel feel like we know each other pretty well.

I think what's happening here is it's understanding "feel like" as one word -- maybe that's why "feel" is ending up in the (subj)? Any suggestions?

OK, this one is extremely interesting. In some cases the sentence comprehension works wonders, in others, "uh-oh". On this one, I was alerted by the following exchange:

You: Hi. Nice hat. Do I know you?
Bot: Oh baby, I DO.

So first I thought there was some kind of new I/You slippage. But Debug knows better:

Found do you
BounceBack on "do you"
(Previous Message: Do you still think I'm getting smarter all the time?)
Original: Hi. Nice hat. Do I know you?
After Preprocess: Hi • Nice hat • Do you still think I'm getting smarter all the time ? •

No wonder my poor bot is confused! But wait -- when I try it again, I get a different debug. No "bounceback" this time, instead:

Original: Hi. Nice hat. Do I know you?
After Preprocess: Hi • Nice hat • Do you ? •
Topic: Do*v you*s still think I'm getting smarter all the time

So, obviously I don't fully comprehend the debug. But this seems to me like trouble! Meanwhile my poor bot is sounding like a proper ass...
