"socket_connect() failed"
This indicates that parse.exe has stopped running, and xnoneitis has set in (without LinkGrammar, all non-raw KPs that match user input against WordNet will fail.)
The only cure for this is a server restart - I believe it should restart automatically now if the program is detected to have stopped, but if it persists for more than a few minutes you might want to drop the Prof an email.
Any one else having seeks and gotos fail to work?
Yes, me!
Seeks seem to be overridden by xcategories.

In some of my bots I have used long strings of seeks xnomatch. The idea is that no matter what the guest says, control will pass to the seek. That used to work fine, but in the last few months it hasn't been working. All kinds of things now take priority over xnomatch, including xcategories. Needless to say, i wish it were not so.

I have had (postkey) fail to show up. I have a keyphrase 'do you believe in' with a response If course I believe in (postkey). It is showing up in transcripts as 'Of course I believe in.

Is there any sure fire way of getting rid of the AI engines canned answers to things like "what kind". I have all sorts of what kind keyphrases from what kind of people, to what kind of vegetable, they are all ranked above 25, many are regexs and all I consistently get is a canned answer like My favorite people is a timid. I would really like to get rid of all the canned answers

Prob<0>, I think it's one of those AI Engine technical glitches - ."socket_connect() failed"<0>, is the line that suggests it - and it has nothing to do with your keyphrase as such
