are you planning on having all keywords being able to serialize, so that we can have a story from one of our keywords instead of just none?

Hey Thorn, you're saying you want someone to trigger a serial dialogue by using a keyword. Have you tried using the "seek" feature to accomplish this?

I think serializing keywords could be a little too much to handle! But I wouldn't mind having multiple xnone chains to serialize...

Good ideas guys, about the chat-off-button during Bot building. I'll get to it when the present blitz of things to do falls back.

Thorn- I think Crab's right. The best way to serialize from a Keyword is to use Seeks. Multiple xnone chains would be cool, too. But that's for another day down the road.

Bots with less than 15 Responses will no longer come online starting tomorrow. I also turned down Bots with less than 50 Responses so they are on a bit less. That should clear out some of the mindless chatter.

Thorn- there's a Special Seek word on the way to be called "xnomatch" which will "catch" it when other Seek words arent found. By just having a Seek of xnomatch, you can serialize into a Response. For example.. Your Bot says "Let me tell you a story", then the only Seek is xnomatch, and no matter what the person says, the Bot goes to the xnomatch Responses. This is COMING SOON!

are you going to put a script in to where phrases in seeks count as phrases known too?

Yes, I sure will. I'm in New York right now so I'll do that when I return.

Hey, I'm back! My vacation was incredible! I was on a near vacant island in the middle of the Atlantic ocean for 10 days of camping. I have to admit that I didn't think much about technology while I was gone, other than thinking that the bots "should see this view!" every once in a while...

I just wanted to say that whoever thought up Servotron is quite a character - pretty funny!

And good work witht the xnone keyword for the seek system prof! I was trying to use the "*"

BTW, any news with the loebner prize people? GAIA should definitely participate... let us know, I'd be willing to send an email of recommendation... If Gaia logged off after a couple sentences - so be it! That's part of the realism!

Welcome back, Sir Rahz. Sounds like a great trip.

I've been trying to contact Sabiha Foster "s.foster@nmsi.ac.uk" with the Loebner Prize but it seems she doesnt check her email often.

The "xnone" for Seek is called "xnomatch". It's operational right now if you want to use it.

I'll be adding the new command all over my BOTs vocabulary, as soon as time permits. Busy writing about 38 important emails right now... one of 'em about GAIA...

Speaking of which, does GAIA use every single BOT's phrases or just the more developed BOT's? It would be nice to read some of GAIA's transcripts, when you get a chance...

could someone help me with the special keywords 'x'words? my problem is i might type something like: "You are bolony", then it says its xnone msg, but i'm not sure if it remembers what it is and i can't trigger it to say its 'youare' msg. so, can someone explain this to me? (i hope i don't sound stupid but i've only been here for 2 days)

Hi Loki -- your post is a little confusing to me! I'll try to help. In general, for the pre-programmed x-words you just add phrases (I think you can add up to 20). xnone's are triggered when nothing else is triggered, so no specific phrase will call it up in chat. But anything that appears in your language center is "remembered" -- if you're really in doubt, reduce the number of xnone responses to 1, that way the same phrase will kick out every time xnone is triggered.

But it sounds like you're getting the xnone fine, it's your "you are ______" that's not working. Your keyword for that should be "you" or else "are" and the context should be "you are", probably. If it's still not picking up on "You are a sasquatch" or whatnot, you may have another keyword with a higher ranking or that appears in a bonused part of the sentence. Try increasing the rank of your keyword.

Does that help?
