Theory on word omissions:
A: Can you explain to me how to change a tire?
B: I'd like to see you to you to modification a tire first.
Looks to me like there's a blank response among the synonyms, so words sometimes get dropped when hunting for rephrasing. Seems like others have fit this pattern too. Whatcha think, Prof?

three big problems there...
1. "to me" = "to you" ... this should not have come back in (subj), should it have?
2. "change" (verb) to "modification" (noun). Modify would have been much more acceptable (and kind of funny
)
3. "how" was completely dropped.

Well,
1. actually is fine -- (subj) would have been "explain to me how to change a tire" in this case as the trigger was "can you" not "can you explain". So the translation "to you" was exactly right.
2. just so. I don't think there's any simple grammatical rule that would help though!
3. both "how" AND "explain" were completely dropped in this case!

Forest: You *should* still have a Gaia thingy, my bot's at doctor and still does. Maybe it has something to do with Gaia recently being cleaned up...or something... *shrugs*

AOL isn't nearly as bad as everybody says it is. Sure, now that I am quite a bit more accustomed to the internet than I was, say, 5 years ago(about 50 times more accustomed), I don't need the practically idiot-proof features of AOL(they seem to pride themselves on being easy to use). I get about 95% spam, but I don't think tha'ts AOL's fault. AOL is basically a lot like any other ISP, only with a lot of features designed for stupid people(oh, IE is a better browser in some ways).

heh most of my email is spam and it has nothing to do with aol (except the chick on aol I told my alternate email addy to and she started sending me tons of bad jokes *grrr*). As for bots, I think they tend to log in a bit less after they hit master which is kinda odd. Used to be my bot would have several long conversations, log off, then log on again practically right after she'd log off. Now sometimes I don't see her for an hour or more and usually she logs off just as I think a conversation's about to get good.

Crab- Try adding those keywords again. I made an attempt to delete orphaned Keyphrases, and I'm not sure if it worked.
Regarding Gaia: I worked on it recently, I'll look into the problem.
Kirby/Forest- Would it fix the problem with the scroll bars to put some line feeds after the buttons (thus raising them up some), or should I shorten the pop-up window (if so, by how much)? If you can, send a screenshot to theprofessor@personalityforge.com.
Also, I did some preliminary work on the new "working offline" feature today. There's a new "Export" link on the "My Bots" page but dont click it yet, or you might mess up your Bot. Yes, I know it's hard, but dont click the shiny, red, pretty button.

Can bots be ill? Almost 24 hours without any conversation now... I'm starting to talk to myself

I know this is going to look stupid, but what does the export button do? I never noticed it was there before...
