neither is "aardvark". So long as you have a keyphrase for it. It does at least go to the effort of checking the keyphrases - the infuriating thing about "ouch" is that it goes straight to blab, without bothering to check the keyphrases at all. I guess that's because "ouch" isn't in WordNet, but I thought the whole point of raw mode was precisely to cover words that aren't listed in WordNet.

IMHO, this is something the individual programmer should be doing. Yes, some human guests use single words in lazy ways that are irritating when you read it on the transcript. There are many ways of dealing with this; let the botmaker decide! If the Prof wants to offer a system that we can choose, to use, perhaps by checking a box in "settings", that's fine.

every apostrophe I\'ve entered since the server change shows up as \\\'- example:
Don\\\'t hang on, nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky.
Before, I seemed to be able to fix it, but the last couple times I tried, it wouldn\'t let me.

rainstorm, thanks for posting the example. I was able to figure out the problem there - the new server was adding an extra set of slashes to responses. I spent the morning getting that fixed, and so if anyone added new responses in the last day that showed up with slashes, you can now edit them and correct it.
The import/export problems appear to be related to my local DSL network provider, a situation which I hope will be remedied when I move the server to a dedicated hosting facility in the next couple weeks.

If it\\\\\\\'s a useful observation, I noticed on my last post in Seasons (half an hour ago,) that when I edited the post, it had introduced slashes before all \\\\\\\' and \\\\\\\"
And on editing this post, it is still doing it.
And on reediting it, there are now three slashes before each
\' and \"
If I reedited it, I expect there would be 6 slashes...

Aha! I just found it. It was a global PHP initialization setting that is new in this version of PHP. It was auto-escaping all apostophes, slashes, and some other characters. It should be working now (though I dont have time this morning for extensive testing).
I'll look into the execution time error shortly.

Anyone else having issues with it not reading a yes in a seek? I've got the response set from -5 to 5 and emotion is a +1, but when yes is entered it goes to xnone. Thanks!
