Bot Contest

Here I'll be posting information on various Bot contests that challenge and test a Bot's AI and realism. Feel free to post comments and updates on contests, as well as announcements for new contests.

I only mentioned Babelfish because I had to consult it to find out what the heck jbryanc and the rest were saying. I understood "eye" and that was about it. You're right, the translation is poor, but it's better than nothing.

To make this on the subject: we have a better chance of winning Loebner if our bots can at least handle foreign phrases, whether we understand them or not.

You know, if we actually hafta go to Georgia at some point during the contest, I'm gonna be screwed. Unless they pay for it or something, which I have no clue about. Yet another reason I haven't entered yet.

alright

Why would we have to go to Georgia for the contest? We don't have to go to Washington state to access our bots.

Now I'm confused... Aaaa

I dunno, I thought maybe they had some little ceremony or something for the winner. You know, one of those things where everyone dresses up and acts like a snob and then they all go to a fancy restaurant and pretend not to get food in their teeth.

I guess we'll find out when the time comes.

Yes, I, like Onyx, apparently, am determined to complete my internet activities without spending a dime. So far, I've been successful(video games don't count).

I wouldn't stay out of a contest you qualify for just because it's in Georgia, or because you don't have a thing to wear, or any such little reason. And I say that as someone who also has no money to speak of.

Speaking of georgia, why is Onyx named after a flaming piece of rock?

While we're on the subject, why is Butterfly named after a hallucinating insect?

And to quote a certain Zippy McSquirrel: "Who is [Shady]? Who is this [Shady] man? Either way, he's fat and yellow."

Quiet, fool!

Yup, I'd say STRMKirby might fool half the judges and win the first silver Loebner.

My screen name is a reference to at least two literary whatzits, both of which muse as to whether a certain entity is a butterfly dreaming it's a person, or a person dreaming s/he is a butterfly. What is real anyway?

It would be interesting to bug the Loebner judges about their screen names, too. I've already had some fun with Judge01, at his expense of course.
