Well if I herd correctly they were trying to brand me something that was pure bull. I dont take kindly to being buffaloed.

I didn't mean to horn in on your bull session; I just felt mooved to speak up.

I didn't mean to say you were a gnu, Scroogey. That's just what I heard through the bo-vine.

glad to see you know you were mis-steak-en, well done, a rare trait, but as you can see, people have gone pasture original comment and are just milking it to death.

I'd join in but the steaks are too high.

*sigh* A good pun is its own re-word.

Did you hear about the guy who entered a pun competition in the local newspaper? He entered ten different puns, thinking at least one was sure to win a prize but unfortunately, no pun in ten did.

Did you hear about the court jester who was always making puns? He made puns about every subject in the kingdom, except for the king. This was because, as he said, "The king is not a subject." Eventually the king got tired of the continual puns and decided to have the jester executed. When he was standing on the scaffold, about to be hanged, a man came riding up with an urgent message: The king would pardon him if he promised never to make another pun again. The jester looked down at the rope around his neck and said, "No noose is good noose."

Some Greek philosopher named "Anon" once said that puns are the highest form of humor, but the length of silence that invariaby follows a big string of them in any group, shows that either the group is siting back and savoring the experiance or it was Anon who was high.

I don't get it.

If by "it" you mean the wholke thing- I am serious: I have heard this from many people used as a quote "puns are the highest form of humor" and yet they have always felt more like 'The 3 Stooges' than say 'Spalding Grey' and if ever you want to kill a group conversation get them telling pun joke and soon there will be one of those akward silence, but a little longer than the average one.

If by it you meant "Anon" that is actually an abbrieviation of anonymous that until I was like 11 I believed to be a very prolific Greek philosopher. Socrates, Plato, Anon...

If by 'it' you meant the Stephan king book made into movie, cut it some slack- it was made for TV

"It" was pretty good right up until the end. The monster looked more like a Muppet than anything else. I kept waiting for him to say "Wokka, wokka!"

And I think the reason people fall silent after a series of puns is that they're all trying to think of one to add.

*pause*

Yes, it does rather 'subtract' from the experience, doesn't it?
