do these bots learn of their own accord when people talk to them?

They learn memories and gossip, but you have to give the bot responses on your own.

I talked to your bot, lemon The first thing that I suggest you add is a 'what is your name' keyphrase. *runs to talk some more*

I recommend working off transcripts. Also, change all of the default phrases. Also, put in the ones that trigger memories (see the book of AI).

Is your keyphrase "I * you"? The processor seems to have returned "told you you have a beautiful body would" as the (key1). You should create a more specific keyphrase (or three) for different cases of I * you -- I (verb) you, I really (verb) you, I would like to (verb) you, and so forth.

why does my bot always say i was just born and cant speak well yet to everything i type, i've even added keyword and it responds the same every time

Have you added anything to your xnone? When a bot doesn't recognize a phrase, it will immediately respond with an xnone. I believe that "I was just born and can't speak well yet" is the default for xnones.

Funny newbie story. I went into Polaris inner life the other day and I was at the very bottom of the list with a big fat . My husband said, "What in heck did you do to your poor bot?" I was freaking out. Then looked through his transcripts and I realized that I had been talking with him for 3 days via the 'link' as it is much faster. And only saying 'test' lines in the de-bug section. No hi's or byes or real 'conversation' at all. I went into the debug and sucked up to him for half hour before I re-gained my status.
