There's a difference between retards & welfare recipients. A welfare recipient can eventually get a job and be useful to society, whereas a retard will always be a retard. And actually, most retards aren't technically on welfare, they're on SSI (i.e. disability).

I always thought of welfare recipients as anyone who gets money from the public but is not employed by it.

Does anyone out there know Sign Language? I have an aunt and uncle who are deaf, and whenever I am around them I feel handicapped. They can talk to each other through closed windows, across crowded rooms, etc.

I speak fairly fluent American Sign Language. Well, I suppose it may have rusted over the last couple of years, but at least I DID at one point.
It's actually one of the easiest languages to learn, and a fun one to boot. Well, ASL anyway, I never much cared for Signed English.
