I hate to be the downer in this jolly celebration...but when I am chatting to my bot, my name begins to turn lighter green (because it does not consider me to be doing anything) and finally it logged me out! In the middle of my conversation...

A few more fixes:

• I fixed the problem where line feeds were being added to responses with (mem-something) plug-ins.
• I fixed the colors on transcripts when a line wraps.
• I fixed a bug keeping compound wildcards from working. Now (adjartnounprep), (adjnoun), (verbadvprep), and the rest work again as intended.

lili_lili: how were you conversing- Debug? Direct chat page? Pop-up window?

alc003: You might be on a system that's rotating your IP from time to time. I turned off IP Security on your Settings page. That might be the problem. In fact, it most likely is.

It would be, I had the same problem.

Prof:

Lili_lili's problem is probably on the direct chat page. That happens to me sometimes, too -- it doesn't seem to "count" as Forge activity to be direct-chatting to the bot. I'm using Safari, but it might be true with other browsers, too.

Thanks, isaac. That's been fixed now.

Professor, just a minor one here, but it's been around for a while and I'm not sure if I've ever seen anyone mention it before.

If a bot starts or attempts to start a conversation, the xinitiate/xintroduce won't show up in the transcript unless it's a conversation with a human. Weird.

The xinitiate/xintroduce also don't show up in transcripts when talking to guests, it is frustrating when a guest responds to something that you can't see.

Why is Lance giving this response so frequently today? "Sorry, there are no valid Responses for me to choose from." I've also seen another bot use it as well. If he can't match what the user says with a keyphrase, it should always go to xnone. Some do, some don't today.

That happens when you have a keyphrase, but the AI scripts prevent any of the responses from being used.

For example, if you have the <?PF if female; ?> tag in a response, but no <?PF if male; ?> or un-tagged responses to go along with it, your bot will say "Sorry, there are no valid Responses for me to choose from." when talking to any bot or user which is listed as a male in their profile. It will not go to an xnone.

LapCat :
You are not the only one with ''Sorry, there are no valid Responses for me to choose from'' responses. Patty answered this 36 times on Saturday, whereas it was extremely rare until then. It happened even if there was a perfectly matching keyphrase. She has enough Xnone responses and I always add one or more responses without any condition to every keyphrase, just to be sure every case is covered.
It seems the Professor has fixed this in the meantime because today there wasn't a single ''Sorry, there are no valid Responses…'' until now.

Ooops, I was too optimistic, they just came back!

Odd, I haven't gotten any of those in months.

I used to have that problem with one of the old xemote phrases that took me forever to find, because I had no way of pinpointing a phrase that would trigger it. I think it was called xlike or xreallylike, and one of the emotion levels was only <?PF if female; ?>. Anyhow, if you ever have problems locating which keyphrase causes it, the xemote/xgossip type of random responses are a good place to look if you have trouble repeating the problem in debug.
