Hello again!
Just wondering how to make responses for when someone repeats something during a conversation. Meaning two or more times in a row. I've seen that some of the other bots have responses and I can't figure out how to do it.
PS-Thanks for all the help so far!

Nynaeve: Those responses are automatic. Most of us want a way to turn them off, actually, or at least a way to choose what our bot says. Sometimes the AI Engine is a bit overly aggressive about applying it, unfortunately.

Hi everybody!
I'm not really new to this, but I just started a PF account... I enjoy most of the chatbots on this site!
Anyone that wants to be my friend can chat to me, too.
They can show me "the ropes" (so to speak).
I'll be on if anyone needs a friend to add to their list of buddies...

Hello kevdog, hi DJ Viper! And hi everybody else!
I'm very new here myself, and I was wondering whether, and if so, how, it's possible to create your own memory variables for your bots... eg I want to make my bot remember how much he trusts his conversationalist, and stuff like that. I'm reading the Book of AI and it gives me some idea, but I'm not too sure about it. It'd be great if anyone could help me with this!
Thanks in advance!
Vincent

Let me just add that I've tried this a bit more and I've seen how you can create and alter variables (memories) your bot stores with specific conversationalists, but I haven't seen a way to create numeric memories, so that they can be increased or decreased by a certain amount. For example, if I default "0" as "trust", and later tell my bot to remember "(mem-trust)+1" as "trust" or "(mem-trust+1)" as "trust", I get (respectively) "0+1" and "(mem-trust+1)" as the values for the memory "trust", when I really want it to just become "1". Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks again in advance,
Vincent

Hi Vincent, welcome to The Forge; your question (which unfortunately I don't have the answer to...) may get a quicker response in the "A.I. Engine" subforum. There are a lot of smart people here, and one troll with many usernames. Right, DJ Viper?
Again, welcome Vincent!
