Damn straight MonkeySlayer. I love it when Prob gets all type-y. I also copy and paste what Psi types when the spirit moves him.

What do you do when you run out of inspiration for your bot? I covered all the keyphrases that I thought were initially obvious, and while transcripts and posts on the Great Quotes forum are good sources of idea, but both are few and far between, to the point where I can barely think of two or three new keyphrases to add each day. Where do you get your inspiration?

I always work from transcripts.

Transcripts are the best. Then any subject you would teach a child. like shapes and colors etc.. Also keep an ear out for how human conversations go.

Since I am building clones of myself.. there is never a stopping point. I originally thought that is what everyone was doing. Then I found I was the outcast.

Maybe some of us just don't like to admit it

I think that each bot is a part of their bot maker. I work on different bots depending on my mood. There is no way you can make a bot that is not an intimate part of yourself.

When Fizzy's responses aren't on one of his overarching themes (such as food), they generally consist of the first six things that pop into my head.

I find that responses are easy to come up with. It's new keyphrases that are hard to find. Transcripts are great, and anything that doesn't sound good warrants a new keyphrase or two. But with about two conversations a day, and the ultracommon phrases already covered, that process is going slooooww.

But things I would teach a child? That sounds like a great idea. Surely getting my bot to recognize words that stand for colours, or shapes, or farm animals can't be too hard. And it's sure to come up in conversations eventually. Thanks Prob. (And everyone else, too.)

I also used a child's dictionary, for vocabulary You can have a keyphrase like star, stars or duck, ducks.

I don't know if you have a friends of the forge account but if you do you can schedule a chat with Judge Betty, that helps with ideas a lot too.
