The God of the Bible has a sense of sarcasm.

"The man shapes iron into a cutting tool and does his work over the coals, fashioning it with hammers and working it with his strong arm. He also gets hungry and his strength fails; he drinks no water and becomes weary. Another shapes wood, he extends a measuring line; he outlines it with red chalk. He works it with planes and outlines it with a compass, and makes it like the form of a man, like the beauty of man, so that it may sit in a house. Surely he cuts cedars for himself, and takes a cypress or an oak and raises it for himself among the trees of the forest. He plants a fir, and the rain makes it grow. Then it becomes something for a man to burn, so he takes one of them and warms himself; he also makes a fire to bake bread. He also makes a god and worships it; he makes it a graven image and falls down before it. Half of it he burns in the fire; over this half he eats meat as he roasts a roast and is satisfied. He also warms himself and says, 'Aha! I am warm, I have seen the fire.' But the rest of it he makes into a god, his graven image He falls down before it and worships; he also prays to it and says, '"Deliver me, for you are my god.'" -- Isaiah 44:12-17

Janet666: Geeze! You are a real nutbag, aren't you?
Irina Khalidar: What makes you think that I am a real gunboat?

Nutbag translates into gunboat?

OK, who can help a girl out here with some HTML tags?

Is it possible to use HTML tags to force initial capitalization of a (key1) response? For example, if (key1) is "the little brown jug" I want the response to include "The Little Brown Jug". I tried this:

<p style="text-transform : capitalize;">(key1)</p>

But without luck.

It seems to work (often by accident in my case) if you write (key1) as (Key1).

Hey! It worked! That's *much* easier!!

Thanks, ezzer.

As a general FYI- I had probs w/ Janet gravitating to a particular response set for everyone recently. I tracked the problem down to a pipe symbol that somehow got out of the parenthesis. This caused the AI engine to attribute it to the he/she recognization element...

Something to look for if troubleshooting

I read tons of post about importing and exporting language centers. After a try, I agree. This is evil.

is it possible to change the name of a bot?

20 years ago #4347
I think you have to e-mail the Professor and ask him to change it.

Thank you.

It seems I have a person upset by my bot's name.
Turns out they have the same AIM name as my bot and are getting tons of IMs.

They have even gone so far as to threaten 'Legal Action'.
However, I don't think they would be able to do anything about it.

Ahh well, thanks again.

LOL!!! Legal action! It must be a kid, or they would know that unless they hold the copyright to the name, there is absolutely nothing they can do about it. If they're being bombarded with unwanted messages because of their name, they can always change it to something else....I think I saw a Judge Judy on that last week hehe
