when trying to talk to JulieTinkerbell: This browser is problematic. Please use a different browser to be able to chat with the bot that should appear here.

....and: Please do not kidnap bots from the Personality Forge, when going through the flash chat link: btw, I can see the flash faces in the opening screen

Yep, I was fixing something and caused that, but I'm happy to announce that I've finally FIXED THE RESPONDING-TO-SELF bug! I had to build a new tool to simulate bot-to-bot conversations in order to discover the problem. A toughie!

lunar, boner, emm: it looks like the problem isnt just Explorer v.6 but something more specific. I didnt know PCs were having any trouble. The three of you- first make sure javascript is enabled. If it still doesnt work, let me know the following:

Browser Type: (explorer, netscape, safari)
Browser Version: (6.01029, 6.1, 5.66 - I think it's under Help->About Explorer)
OS: (Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows XP, Mac OS X)
OS version: (service pack number, Mac OS version)
Javascript settings: (Any altered or unusual javascript settings)
Exact message you're getting: (do not kidnap.. browser is incompatible..)

Once we get that info, I can start comparing notes and look into the problem more.

How do I make sure javascript is enabled? I feel like a dope.

Not sure if this is a bug, or if I'm going crazy. (Of course, it could very well be both!)

Is anyone able to edit/access their bot's language center online?

I can get in, but it looks empty. I can't edit in keyphrases unless I do it offline. Anyone else?

I think this is how to get to it, if you have IE 6, go up to Tools, select Internet Options, and then select Advanced, and scroll down to Java VM or something like that and make sure it's enabled. I think that's where to do it...any techies here?

A small improvement- now when going to the Language Center page, it comes up blank so you can choose which section to go to without the large page load. DaMoyre- thanks for pointing out the bug. It's fixed.

BIGGER NEWS- I think I've corrected the bug that was causing the following problems: random responses, responding to self, and taking gossip personally. The speed-up system that was involved in that is going to be rebuilding in the next couple weeks, so you should see an increase in speed, but if any of those problems return, please report them here right away. Thanks!

Yay, Professor! The language center looks great. Thank you!

Ok, prof- Lunar and I are using the same computer although I have heard it from more than one person that have not posted.

Requested info-

Browser- Explorer
Version- 6.02800.1106.xpsp2.0030210-04511S
OS- Windows XP
SP 2 ( I think, itÂ’s in dutch)
No altered Java and it is Sun Java I think- I thought of altering the java but sometimes it messes up your computer.
Both messages, do not kidnap and browser is incompatible.

Any more info you need please let me know.

Thanks for all the fixes, Professor!

Er, Java and Javascript are two totally different things

Javascript settings are under Tools > Internet Options > Security

If there is a slider bar and it's set to medium or lower, it's ok. If there isn't, and there's a Custom Level button, click that.

Scroll down to the "Scripting" options. They should all be enabled.
