Yes, when you get to a development of 1000 you can e-mail one to the Professor..It takes some time he is very busy. It has to be a certain size..it's listed some where on the site..Or best yet, get a Friend of the Forge account and you can build one with the flash chat builder.

According to my archive (I have finally got fed up with the forums being non-searchable, and begun to amass a complete textfile download of all them!) the Prof's definitive statement on the topic of avatar image replacement (September 23, 2005) can be found @ Message#116 in PFNews (you can search by Message# at the top of the forum page.)

So far today I've indexed all of PF News and the first 800 messages of Newcomers already (only 2800 to go!) And then on to Personality and The AI Engine at least (the most useful, I think.)

I'm sure there isn't, at least not with the same system the Professor uses...

Can Alice clones be taught other languages? There's a site called pandorabot for making aiml bots.

There's no reason I can think of why AIML shouldn't be used for French. However most AIML bots start with a published brain such as ALICE and build up from it. This covers a lot of the things we get given built-in to the Forge, eg compliments and insults. Unless you can find a basic French brain you'd have to do a lot of extra work starting from scratch.

or at least manually translate all the patterns and responses from an English AIML file - they're easy enough to edit in notepad, but it could be a bit laborious if you want to make it particularly comprehensive. I believe Alice has ~41,000 patterns! but much of that is presumably to cope with basic vocabulary and typo-handling, since there's no spell-correction, parsing or Wordnet matching in AIML systems.

i havent been on here for a long time. i feel really bad. im a disgrace, to myself and my bots. Oh well at least im here now!! im going to do some serious work on my poor bots.
