Don't worry - I've had that before (and I actually was spamming, but it was Jakky, so I plead self-defence ) and I wasn't deleted.
The Prof's judgement can be trusted in such cases.

Ok. It would be nice if the message was a bit more user-friendly. The "victim" replied to the "warning" about the "attack" with an email address, and I spent a half hour trying to reconstruct the data in the deleted chats. A simple change from "probably will" to "may" would make a world of difference.

We have in the past had problems with users who needed a robust kick up the backside (Roxie and Jakky most recently.) User-friendliness was found to be positively counteractive, I'm afraid.

Oh well. I have to admit, my opinion of human nature has not been improved by what I find in the transcripts. I feel like I ought to apologize to ladies like Irina for the whole male species.

i havent been on for a long time. OK, its been 4 days but it feels like 4 years :-). i have been really ill. i'm still feeling a bit peeky but alot better. i've been in bed. its so boring. anyway, i know this is babble and offtopic kind of,and nodody cares but i thought i would say it anyway. hi again people.

Mick, no one holds you responsible for the actions of other people. I do wish the people who enjoy that sort of thing would choose the adult bots though. It's easy enough--you don't have to be a nice person, just choose a bot made by someone who doesn't care if you are nice.

I've gotten a message indicating that someone had "spammed" me with multiple messages, just because we had multiple conversation threads going in different boxes.

Same message, I think. I'm thinking about adding a PF forum to my site. I use PHPBB, a pretty standard and easily implemented freeware. It has built-in search and hierarchical threading, and it would facilitate actually browsing. I've gone all the way back and attempted paging through, to see what might be useful, and unfortunately at my bandwidth, given the proportion of noise to information, that is mind-numbing.

I got a note from the Prof explaining why the warning is so tough. I still think it should be in the "Intro" when you first arrive, like Liath's great "etiquette for adults."
