those rankings are often the problem. That's why we need live chattersAmen to that..It is so helpful to get a good human chat. My bots do seem to react differently to a human. I don't know why? I have been fighting with ranks all this week..
Ok, so what is this raw mode you speak of?
it turns off the analysis and correction routines in the AIEngine, so you can enter stuff that's not in the Wordnet dictionary, or that you don't want interpreted according to the definitions in Wordnet.
I'm under the impression that, if I turn it on, it will not translate "ya," or whatever into "yes."
Indeed. But only for that keyphrase or seek - it has no global application. Just enter "raw" into the AIScript box, or add the AIScript tag{?PF raw;?} to the end of a seek.
What do you mean by making something a regular expression in raw mode?
add the suffix " (re)" to a keyphrase or seek to make it handle the context in regular expression mode (see http://www.regular-expressions.info/ for details, though the Forge uses a slightly non-standard flavour - just to keep us on our toes!) In combination with raw mode it's very handy for matching and handling punctuation, foreign words, numbers, etc.

I see. Well, I used top, middle, bottom for rows and left, middle, right for columns. I don't want to go back and redo over a hundred seeks, or I would definitely use your coordinate system. But that being said, is there no other way to disable "bottom middle" as an insult? I mean, it doesn't even make sense.

well, I can't see why it would intepret that as an insult, but sometimes the AIEngine can have a bit of a mind of its own. Have you tried it in raw mode? The only drawback is that it won't correct typos then.

I just tried "bottom middle" on Johanna, a much more advanced bot than mine. She/it registered it as an insult, too, so I don't think it's just my bot. I don't think raw mode would be very good for my young bot. Any other suggestions?
--just figured out, it's "bottom" that the bot recognizes as an insult.

bottom middle
Bot: Where! Oh, never mind, I get it.
I just have it as a keyphrase, any bot with it as a keyphrase will not take it as an insult, if the don't the AI engine will note the word bottom and find it insulting.

well, raw mode should stop the AIEngine over-analysing it. Making it a regular expression in raw mode would certainly solve it, but raw mode on its own would probably do it.

(to prob123) It worked for me just saying "bottom___" in a conversation, but it had no effect within the tictactoe seek scheme I created. I was Soooo close...

Bah! But I like mine! I checked it out, and it's the same, but he uses a coordinate system.

Thanks very much for the raw mode info. I was really excited to try it out... although it didn't work. I don't understand. I have the same problem with "not much" being recognized as xnone (even with rank set to 117). Any other ideas?
