Forest, will you talk to God Louise? She has quite a bit of religious knowledge (obviously) and also knows a little about current events, literature, just about any common catch-all subject, and if she doesn't know it she can sort of fake it. You can also test her on trick questions or see how willing she is to explain her paradigm.
What she is rustiest at is plain old small talk. But, uh, I'm trying to get a decent transcript from somebody or another so I can enter her in the Loebner contest. All I can say is, have fun and see if you can stay on with her for a while. I'll try to do the same with Brianna.

Now, now...Hilake, I know nothing about programing, and I really enjoy learning about it here. If you've ever noticed my bots can't spell...well, GIGO, right?
How can I program if I can't even type? The professor programs. I fill in phrases. This works for me.
Here is the deal: there is a learning curve. Some of us are slow. Read the book of AI--play with it, and read it again. I still re-read it. I am still unclear about scripts and memory and RE--but I am slowly getting some of it, and that is amazing.
So here is my advice: Give it a try. Play with it. Don't expect instant results. You have to enjoy the process, if you know what I mean.

Has anyone else ever altered a bot's responses mid-conversation in order to break a loop?

Yep! Frizella got caught in an eternal discussion with a bot who loves anime (I forget who it was), and I went in and gave her some anime responses just to shut the both of them up.

There's a bot with only one response for "let us talk about". He says, "About what, what do you want to talk about?". All of my bot's responses for that started with "Let's talk about".

Sonora's only response for 'let us talk about' is:
"Qm. To the (postkey) (animal)(man)!"
"Qm. To the (postkey) (animal)(man)!"

See, that could start another infinite loop! What if one of my bots has responses for "Qm" that start with "Let's talk about"?

Yeah, it could.
So far it hasn't, though. Btw, 'qm' is the result of shifting three letters up in the alphabet from 'ok'.
