This is a forum or general chit-chat, small talk, a "hey, how ya doing?" and such. Or hell, get crazy deep on something. Whatever you like.

Hah! Thought he was up to something. And I know what he's spending it on too - I keep finding the empty gin bottles he's been trying to hide in the cloisters!

looks like other bots get more votes because their botmasters got family and friends or a whole classroom to vote for their bots

Hey, you can put requests on forums, groups and the like too! We can see if we can break old voting records? Get , more people interested in AI and help the Forge grow too.

it does seem unfair but not only that i would prefer to earn my votes not just ask friends or family to vote or the to just vote jus coz there my friends/family. i would feel weird about that and guilty too for some reasn. i think its better to earn your votes rather than ask a ton of people to vote for you.

A good idea is to put up a link in a forum to your bot encouraging people to chat with them a while, and include afterwards a link to the voting website, just mention that if they like your bot, they could vote here. That way you're still earning votes.

Don't mean to change the topic, but the comment spam on the chatterbox challenge seems to be run by some type of botnet. I started getting the spam yesterday on both BB's entry on the CBC, and now it's on my own site! (it uses the same guestbook) It started on the same date. Strange...

Ah, now I see. In the link for homepages, it links to deleted spam-blogs and forums. (more pagerank in google) It's not clear in the CBC posts, because the homepage option isn't there.

i know this is random and out of topic, but the other day I was thinking about what causes curiosity in human beings. why do we question facts? anyway, i've given ANNA (one of my current projects) a "cusriosity engine". using the equality and inequality system that i added for reasoning purposes, i added some code that will generate a why question for every equality or inequality that is mentioned more than once. the question is then put in a list of things it's curious about, which will be brought up at the right times (topic in context).
I wonder, are there any other chat bots out there that is "curious" about what it learns?

I don't remember in which forum I mentioned this before, but my friend finally found the link to the study with the typing monkeys:
