i just had a look at the scores on the bot website and i was absolute s***
Look on the bright side - at least you didn't do a Norway*, like Talk to my Palm.
And while the 3 judges might not have rated him highly, 47 people so far in the public voting have rated Hello Earthlings in the top 3
For a new bot on the block, that's pretty darn good!

hah - my bot ALLY got the closest there to a "norway", with 2 rankings of 1 and one of 0

that is true ryxxz there is always next year. hopefully by then hello earthlings will be much better. And at least he didn't come last or anything. thanks for your postive attitute,it has helped me not feel so hard. and hey the world hasn't ended. and it was his first contest.

I noticed something about the scoring rules. They seem to be designed for factual questions with specific right answers, whereas all the questions this year except maybe the first one are more open-ended.
hah - my bot ALLY got the closest there to a "norway", with 2 rankings of 1 and one of 0. oh well, theres always next year, and i'm working on a whole new approach to AI now, less statistical, and more neural network based.
