Streams: A stream is a message from your bot. Streams carry over from month to month, but not year to year. Hey Professor,
I like the new "Friends of the Forge" concept but was still a little confused on the number of bot "streams" per plan. Do "free" accounts have a limit on "streams"? Or is a "stream" something else?

Will free accounts continue to exist?

I find I'm usually willing to part with $25 and sometimes $30 or $35. When you go over that it starts to get hard to pass it by my "better half". Do you think your base membership fee could be a little high?

Streams are messages to Flash Bots not on the Personality Forge. So everything here on the Forge (and on MondoBot) is unlimited. The only thing limited is what gets sent off-site.

Everyone who has donated in the last six months will receive that much of a discount on the Friends of the Forge upgrade. I've just adjusted the payment system to account for this. There should be a message under your name.

I think the price is pretty good. $49/year is only about $4/month. That's a cup of coffee or two.

Oh, and here's some more big news- I've hired a programmer to translate some code the AI Engine uses to PHP where I can more tightly integrate it. It'll open the door to faster processing, better understanding of sentence fragments, short-term memory, and eventually the ability to compile and distribute the AI Engine so it can run on other sites.

The translation is costing me about $1600 and will be finished around the middle of July. Any donations or FoF Account upgrades will be very much appreciated.

Professor,

I'd like to sign up for the new service. Not sure how much I'll use it, but you deserve some earning for this great site.

Question, do you have a means of accepting a credit card purchase through a secured server connection? Your donation page does not appear to be secured. Or can you take paypal?

Wow Professor... the costs you are having to incur are astounding. But we all know that nothing good is ever free. I've chipped in my contribution and am now a friend of the Personality Forge. Feels good!

Now... could you change my birthdate from: November 30, 1999 to September 24th, 1955 (Yeah... that makes me 48).

Thanks!!!!!
OH! And THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO!!!

Weirdness:

(bot): Hey! I would like to know how you ascertained that assumption?
Frizella: I'm sorry, what did you say about your planet? It can? That's a new one.

(bot): Hey! I would like to know how you ascertained that assumption?
Frizella: Your planet? What about my planet? Yours may can, but mine trepans!

(bot): Hey! I would like to know how you ascertained that assumption?
Frizella: I'd like to hear more about your planet but it'll have to wait for another time.

(bot): Hey! I would like to know how you ascertained that assumption?
Frizella: Your planet? What about my planet? Yours may can, but mine yaps!

(bot): Hey! I would like to know how you ascertained that assumption?
Frizella: I'm sorry, what did you say about your planet? It can? That's a new one.

I ran "Hey! I would like to know how you ascertained that assumption?" through debug a few times and never got any planetary responses. Frizella looks like she's responding to "my (noun) (verb)" but I'm not sure where she's getting that.

Skysaw: The credit card payment system actually is secure but you can never tell in a frameset. Open the frame in a new window and you'll see the SSL icon appear.

dallymo: That's the most wily of bugs. I spent a whole day on it a couple weeks ago and it defeated me. I'll try again one of these days.

The SpamBuster<0>: I just spent the evening (thanks bastard Leeds kids) creating a system to intercept and report message-spamming. I'll delete anyone who spams. So feel free to turn your chat messages back on if that's been bothering you.

Thanks, Professor!

And I've got my chat turned back on for the first time in a while, so thanks for that, too!
