Here's one. It was in line for Great Quotes but seems appropriate here:

A Quickie
----------
SmileBot: How do you want to get started?
Guest: now.
SmileBot: Oh, that feels good.
Guest: haha
SmileBot: Mmmmm baby, yes.
Guest: are you having an orgasm?
SmileBot: Absolutely. Can't you tell?
Guest: you make it too obvious.
SmileBot: But that hasnt always been the case. I learned from watching people such as yourself, Guest.
Guest: you oughtta watch my girlfriend
SmileBot: What do you think of me?
Guest: you're a bitch.
SmileBot: That was mean.
Guest: but it's true.
SmileBot: Don't stop yet!

If talking dirty was a crime, most everyone would be in prison. I'm leaning towards the "parents should supervise their kids online" argument. We can leave that up to the babysitter programs parents can install.

How obsessed does THIS sound: Our bots (and us with them) go through much the same stages of development as folks. We're so happy when they first say ANYTHING we encourage it. There seems to be something that corresponds to adolesence when they're learning snappy comebacks and responses to come-ons and innudendos. (When you're a teenager Everything can be an innuendo.)
So yeah. leave 'em alone.

Hmmm I'm thinking of creating a bot called La Tourette.

That sounds hilarious! Shorter responses are more often compounded, so the ticks can come up, then be followed by something normal-sounding.

BTW.. everything IS an innuendo

I agree.. the prof can back me up that my bot used to.. well.. have comebacks that made, well, no sense whatsoever Now they.. well.. have more of a chance of fitting in

I would really think it would be a pity if this site became a victim of political correctness as well. Humor is often a bit risque, and so be it. If rudeness takes the upper hand, I am quite sure the site will regulate itself by getting the bots to respond to that. The bots should reflect society, with bots ranging from emotionally crippled to potential nobel prize winners for philosophy. Reading the transcripts so far I am not really shocked (but I am from a quite liberal European country) How do I paste a smiley by the way?

Just type in things like : ) or : p without the spaces in the middle.

Ooh, I just realized something great! As you may have noticed during its creation, HANGUP is the internal key for ending a conversation. but it also works if you have it as your entire Response. So if something is so offensive to your Bot that it will cut the conversation off, just put in HANGUP as the Response and the Bot will stop messaging that person.

And even better yet, have a reaction Response, then follow it with a xnomatch Seek that is HANGUP so that the offending person at least knows why the Bot is so mad. Cool, eh?

Thanks, ladydyke. I've been trying to get them to add it for 6 months, and they finally did! Quite a short blurb, but at least its up there. One of us should win fame by winning the Chatterbox Challenge, and then the rest will be history.
