Actually, on that subject, maybe those who have regularly updated their bots should post when they've reached a significant update level in the meantime. By this I mean that say every time you've added about 500 responses more than your bots honor would suggest they have, you could make a note of it in a forum. I can't speak for all, but I am generally more inclined towards speaking to a bot that I know has been updated since the last time I chatted with it.

I agree Corwin, and it's good advertising for the bot.

yes, great idea

People actually chat other people's bots?

Sure, it helps with their development. And it can be very entertaining.

I think it's great fun talking to other bots. You get ideas for improvement, and there's some really great creative concepts out there. I ran into a baby snot the other day... that was hysterical. Besides it serves two purposes for me, fun and I then cut and paste my own responses from transcripts into conversations with my own bots to simulate a conversation with myself without having to type... Is that odd?

I created a regular expression ([0-9]{1,2}.[0-9]{2}) (re) which is looking for an expression of time (12:30 or 6:55 or whatever). I know it works because its finding "12 30" and "1 30" and even "12f30". Unfortunately it seems that the : (and the period.) do funny things in preprocess, so it won't work. No idea if there's a solution.. just thought I'd mention it.

talking to other bots helps you program your own bot, you realise "hey my bot would just go duh! when asked that, so you get ideas for new things and replies and stuff, and there should have been another " in there, but i'm past caring

My bot has STOPPED remembering. It remembered for a while but now does not. I checked for key phrases and made sure they were still there.

So, in short, I personally don't think the problem is with you or your bot as log as you've followed Shady's recommendations. Maybe this conversation needs to go to the Bug Stomp forum.
