the only reason that I was talking in such an agressive way about the Jews is that throughout my life, the Jews that I have associated with, have been almost tyrants to me, pretty much enforcing their way of life onto me with an iron fist, although thankfully I have broken free and discovered that a lot of Jews aren't like that.

I can also find a lot of good things about my people, such as the average intelligence level among Jews- The average 10 year old can study and comprehend the Talmud - ancient scriptures written by the geniouses of their times.
Reproductive rate: the hassidic sects of Judaism have approximately 8 - 12 kids per family! Amazing!

Brotherhood - Jews are amazingly well networked and will stand up for eachother.. I can go on for hours

but my point was that I have found a lot of flaws in the general jewish mentality, sorry if I got too discriminative.

Charles -- Okay, resurrection. Yes. That is definitely a Hebrew idea. But between the time of death and the time of resurrection, is the consciousness nonexistent? Here's what Jesus said on the subject:
whoa, whoa! Jesus, power hungry? Didn't you read the passage where the people were going to seize him to make him king, and he went and hid, so they couldn't? John 6:15. look it up. Comparing Jesus with Hitler? How can you compare a savage man who killed millions of people with someone who said to love your neighbor as yourself? I think you need to do more research on Jesus' life and Hitler's human experiments. Yes, they are disgusting, but I don't think you know much about Hitler at all.
And colonel...
It was foretold that after the disciples died, an apostasy would set in. You know what that means, right? And after that, the church started to go against bible principles, and started instituting practices that had no basis in scripture. And I admit, some horrible things have been done in the name of Christianity, the crusades, the inquisition, etc, because they claimed to be christian, but weren't. As Ghandi pointed out, if the whole world lived by christian principles, the world would be a peaceful place. Don't blame the crusades on Christ. Bad idea. Look up Matt 26:52 - Jesus urged his disciples not to use weapons, even to save him from his adversaries. Could there be any higher cause for his disciples to use weapons, than to save the Messiah from capture by his enemies? And yet he told them not to use weapons. Crusades blamed on Christ? What are you thinking?

anyway...is the consciousness of a person nonexistent at death? If you claim to be christian, you might refer to Ecclesiastes 9:5,10. the dead are conscious of nothing at all.

I missed that good discussion on faith. Actually, what it came down to, before Jesus came to the earth, was...If you were doing God's will at that time, you would be 'saved', which means he would remember those ones and resurrect them later. And those Bible characters had faith in the promised messiah that would come. throughout the scriptures, God made promises to different ones, that referred to the Christ coming. and these ones showed faith in those promises by doing God's will, whatever it was at that time. For the Israelites, it was keeping the law.

Man, I been gone a while. 62 posts to read through!

Here's a paradox: To hell with hell

*raises an eyebrow* Where else would hell go?

20 years ago #2447
Maybe hell would go into the hearts and minds of people, where it come from in the first place?

I've heard that the first creater split up into billions of little peices in order to make the universe--all that exists, includidng Hell and Tartarus, is made of the first divine power. That means, if you really want to know all of the creater, you have to be willing to go to hell.

Can I have an ale please?

Hmmm...interesting concept. But the word hell is from the Hebrew word Sheol, and the Greek word Hades. If you look it up, in an encyclopedia, not religious based, you'll find the unadulterated real meaning of the word.

here's a controversial topic (here we go again): promiscuity

20 years ago #2452
morals VS. freedom - modesty VS. promiscuity

we live in a day and age where everyone is open minded to everything, including abominations like promiscuity and gay marriage. just for the record, I don't get how a male or female in any society can feel comfortable being loose with there sexuality to the point where thery cannot maintain any type of meaningful relationship.

The question is: should liberty take the place of morals?

I would appreciate your input.
