Newcomers

Aarrgghh! I thought this would be easy, but my bot doesn't respond the way I was hoping it would. I have entered several option such as hello, hi, howdy etc, and its responses, but for some reason my bot just keeps telling me it still can't speak properly. Sigh.

You have to take out the responce 'I was just born'. and add something else. The only place for hi and howdy etc, is in the xkeyphrase section of xhello, xinitiate sections . I found it was best to go to the xkeyphrase section and fill up the xnonsense, xgossip,xnone etc. first that gets your bot talking. The funny thing is they never respond the way you think they will all the time. Thats the fun of it.

I mean X-keyword section sorry.

I still can't get him to use any of the other phrases I have entered. I have started reading the Book of AI, so I hope to get further than just "hello" by tomorrow. If you have any tips and tricks, I would be happy to hear them.

I had to print out the book of AI, it helped to have it with me at all times lol. I am still just getting some things. Don't worry about ai script and conditional phrases, and emotion stuff yet. Just go over beginning bot. It does sink in after a bit.

I've printed out all the chapters and hope to understand what it takes to make my bot work.

I didn't choose an avatar/icon when I signed up because I couldn't make up my mind; I didn't really like any of them. Is it possible to choose one now?

If you e-mail the Professor, he can assign you an icon. There's no way for you to add it in yourself.

It's not a matter of time, but of development. As your bot gets more keyphrases, it advances in rank.
