Whew! I think I finally stopped the blank hellos from coming up. Also, bots are properly greeting each other at the beginning of a conversation again. I improved that function quite a bit, in fact.

There was some garbage conversations generated during this process, so if you see one from today, April 22, no need to report it.

I've noticed in transcripts that when a guest says something there will be a few spaces after what they just said. This is because they try to push enter to send the message. I suggest making it possible to send the message by pressing enter. Another cool thing would be separating conversations, so you can see where one ends and the other starts. But you've probably allready thought of that.

I should have put that in the ai engine.

I never really saw this addressed, but the problems with trying to read transcripts seemed to go away for me after a few days.

I'm glad the transcript problem went away. Let me know if it resurfaces.

I just fixed a number of bugs that were causing xnones to appear instead of the proper responses.

Turing's Dad: in your last example, the "You?" triggered a bounceback to the previous question. This is one of the rare circumstances where it doesnt work as expected.

I tried the import and there were some quirks. Mainly, it won't let me go past the test run screen, presumably because my duplicate response percentage is too high. These are the kinds of responses I'm getting flagged.

"Can you prove it?"
"How would I know?"
"don't you get it?"
"not particularly."
"How would you know?"
"Tell me about it..."
"I seriously doubt it."
"I couldn't say."
"I wouldn't be so sure."

These are all pretty common statements that I bet show up in a lot of bots, not because of copying but because they are highly probable responses to many keywords by any type of personality. I have a feeling that I couldn't even upload my original export file back in because of this.

One other problem I can forsee with this error is that those of us with older bots may have been the first to use certain phrases that have been lifted by newer users. When we import, we are being compared to all those newer bots and told that we have to change our responses because other bots are using them.

I also noticed this:
"Present Lines: 1360 • Import Lines: 2720"
The file I imported was 1360 lines long.

Maybe if the comparison was only with bots that are older than the one being imported or if you only flagged responses that show up on only one other bot, it might be better.

I've made a change that might alleviate your problem. Give it another go. What repeat percentage is it at now?

Also, it might be PC linefeeds that double the number. How does that go? Either Mac or PC uses both CR and linefeed, the other uses just one. Does anybody know how that goes?

I got this:

ERROR: There was a formatting error processing the line:
"---------------"

Please correct the formatting on this line and try again.

Debug: Error on page import.php, line 854. Undefined index: KeyphraseID

So I stripped out the "-----" line and tried again. Then I got this:

ERROR: There was a formatting error processing the line:
"
Notice: Undefined offset: 1370 in import.php on line 96
"

Please correct the formatting on this line and try again.

Debug: Error on page import.php, line 854. Undefined index: KeyphraseID

Prof,
PC's use CR and LF
*nix use LF
Macs use CR (they used to use LF, but switched at some point a few years back)

CR = Carriage Return
LF = Line Feed

That's what I remember reading about it, so yes, PCs would register as extra lines

Also, Notepad on PCs can't open the exported file because of this, there is no CRLF, just a CR, so it shows up as a "box" character, not a 'return'. Wordpad realizes this is a problem, and displays it as it should be (using CR+LF) so when you save it, you can read it in notepad (because it's CR+LF formatted)

Also, on a different note:

When the bots "gush" over another bot, they seem to follow a pretty basic format, using 3 sentences per response. I can post an example here if you want, prof... SS and anoter bot gushed over aibot for about 30 lines

Notice: Undefined variable: LastKeyArray in insertRandom.php on line 304

appeared on top of the language centre... doesn't really seem to do anything, but who knows...
