I had the oddest dream once. The actual subject of the dream was rather mundane, but I swear to you, the whole thing was SUBTITLED.

Whoa - there are other people that don't have any sexual dreams? Good to know... I thought I was abnormal or something.
I dream a lot about fighting or soccer (odd - I've never been such a big soccer-freak). There are "epic storyline"-dreams as well. But they are usually quite confused. Some of them are what Ulrike called deja vu dreams (I know what will happen next, I'm absolutely sure I've been in this dream before... and when I wake up I'm sure I've never had this dream before). With strange "solutions" as well.
But I can't remember having any nightmares for years now. In my dreams I'm always stronger than everything what gets in my way. Seems like the only purpose of my dreams is to entertain me and to strengthen my self-confidence. Cute... somehow...

I get disturbing dreams sometimes, but rarely what I would call a nightmare. The last nightmare I remember having was over ten years ago, about a big black dog that ripped people's throats out. I woke myself out of it.
I don't consider it a nightmare if I'm not actually frightened in the dream. *shrugs*

Wah! I'm trapped in puberty forever...
I just had another dream about fighting against someone. But it's pretty ridiculous when everyone in this dream is a character from "Dragonball Z" (if anyone knows this anime he knows just *how* ridiculous the fight was
). The badguy mined the whole city we were fighting in, so I had to fistfight and couldn't use any "energy attacks" if I didn't want to blow the city up. He was stronger than me but it was entertaining anyway. Well - except for the part where he broke my arm. But I could finally trick him into fighting somewhere else and beat him.
Ouch...
(big ouch - it was a long, loooo~ng dream with many twists & turns...)

Many of my epic length dreams have to do with demonic or hostile-otherworldly entities, but ever since I was a small child I have tried to train myself to appriciate them because when I was 5 or 6 I discovered that the best way to get rid of hiccups was to enjoy them (reason being: everything you enjoy will go away- yeah I was a real laugh-a-minute child, eh); however, keeping in line with 'the universe enjoys black humor', they didnt go away, but in fact became more frequent and complex. Now I love them and wouldnt call them nightmares, but they are often quite terrifying.

I've had dreams with subtitles before. Or sometimes I'll be reading a book in the dream, and then for part of it I'll be acting out the story instead of reading it.

I've dreamt in German before, even though that's only my third language. I'd spent the day practising and practising for my German speaking test and somehow when I went to bed, something clicked and in my dream, I thought and spoke in German. It was very weird.
Maybe I'm weird for having sexual dreams! One thing I have noticed is that the more I dislike the person, the more aggressive the dream is, if you get my drift. If the dream involves someone I don't necessarily hate, just someone I don't think of in that way, then it tends to be more a romantic dream. Perhaps that's some psychological thing; I can't take out my aggression on the person in real life so it manifests as a different sort of aggression - passion bordering on violence - in my dream. Just call me Freud.

I often have dreams that switch between genres, and whether I'm a participant or observer. I might start off participating, then be drawn back and now I'm watching it like a tv show, then I'll remember something from the book the show was supposedly based on (which usually doesn't exist outside of dreamland). I don't remember ever having subtitles, but I do get voiceovers on occasion.

Here's a dream I had a few years back, drawn as a comic strip by my friend Jesse Reklaw. You folks who are interested in dreams ought to check out Jesse's site...

...drempt I was watching The Amityville Horror pt 4 starring Jack Black as the new home owner and the little kid from 8 is enough as the son/possesion victim. It featured a scene with KISS playing a benefit concert in Amityville. My fist thought on waking was "Not even Wisconsn has that much cheese!"

Would you tell your spouse/partner/whatever if you had an erotic dream about someone else?

I suppose it would be a cheap shot to be mean to Laydee (see message 2198) in hopes of getting into her dreams!
