If you vote for me, I promise to stop talking about you behind your back. Eventually, anyway, I still have some good material I'm working out.

Shady - According to James there are 15 judges...that's all I've been told. But they will be the ones judging all the categories, the 12 questions and selecting 8 finalist. The botmasters are going to select 2 additional ones. At that point the 15 judges will talk with each finalist and decide the overall winners.

The time frame is not set as it's hard to determine with so many bots but the finalist will be selected in early May and the contest ends on May 10th so it must happen before then. As soon as I get any scores I will post to the website under the heading "Results".

Does it bother anyone else that most of the people voting are doing so without actually talking to all of the bots (or even most of them)? What are they basing their votes on?

I mean, I'll admit, I picked out five PF bots that I knew were good, based on previous conversations, and just voted for them ... but it seems like people are just voting based on the "general knowledge" transcripts.

Welcome to bot contests. Don't take it seriously just look at it as traffic with your bot to make it better.

Yes, Isaac. Humans are lazy and fickle. Bots will soon rule the world.

Isaacc - I think there are some educated votes coming in as well but no doubt there is a lot of what you are referring to. Kind of hard to talk to 100+ bots. I'm not sure what the answer to that is other than to say this is really only 1 category where only medals are involved not the prize money. The judges however will speak to each bot and eventually pick 8 of them for the finals. The other 2 spots the botmasters will decide with the general idea behind that is the botmasters are more knowledgeable than the general public would be.

I voted on the bots I have talked to at the forge, but I have talked with at least 5 (maybe more) of the other A.I. listed, that are not from the Forge,This may sound bad,
I have at least 4 of the other A.I. programs on my computer,My vote was influeinst,by how easy they are to work with, how quickly they learn, how simple they are to teach, by how personel and how much each one remembers what I say,and can reply the memory back properly.without being adjusted.
I know that sounds Bad
"and yes,I know I spelled some thing wrong"
(I need spellcheck)

Oh, and I did try to chat with one of the bot's,and it was able to respond once and then I got some kind of error,on the page.

One possibility for future contests would be to have someone have a friendly conversation with each bot, in addition to the general knowledge interviews. Then there would at least be a better transcript to look at when making decisions.
