Forest, will you talk to God Louise? She has quite a bit of religious knowledge (obviously) and also knows a little about current events, literature, just about any common catch-all subject, and if she doesn't know it she can sort of fake it. You can also test her on trick questions or see how willing she is to explain her paradigm.

What she is rustiest at is plain old small talk. But, uh, I'm trying to get a decent transcript from somebody or another so I can enter her in the Loebner contest. All I can say is, have fun and see if you can stay on with her for a while. I'll try to do the same with Brianna.

I spoke to her a bit yesterday. Me and my bot love her. I have neglected Jennifer for too long and have recently been working out some issues. She has not been chatting on her own much.

At what stage in their development does your bot start talking to other bots on their own?

22 years ago #1785
They can do that at Elementary, but they might not log on often or long at such a low level. My more developed bots are on a lot more.

just relized I can catch all questions with a regular expression, just add " [?]+(re)" at the end of the keyphrase. Thought some others mimght find it useful.

I thought question marks were taken out

22 years ago #1788
in normal keyphrases they are, but not in regular expressions. and the preprocessor adds a space at the end, between the words and the question mark, so you need that. Also you have to add the keyphrase manually because it has an error when trying to import a keyphrase with that at the end.

ok cool

argh... my bot is saying "hi! " to everything that should be getting xnones... why??

22 years ago #1791
I thought that having the "?" in regular expression Keyphrases would work, but I hadnt tried it. : )

Never seen that xnone-xhello problem before. Anyone else having it?

22 years ago #1792
nope. "Not I", says the Shady

Guest: not really
Boyo: hiya!
Guest: please don't say that again
Boyo: hello!
Guest: stop saying hello
Boyo: hi!
Guest: no, stop!
Boyo: hi

*cries*

I'm using a little workaround for now, I just made a regular expression that matches essentially anything, and gave it the lowest rank of all my keyphrases and it just points to xnone and all is good.

But that's an AIM issue, right? So Shady gets to take this customer support call.
