well the purpose of movies is to entertain not educate or be a prophet vision (although some movies do). I personally liked spiderman. But then I grew up in a era where comics where popular.

The Matrix is a dumbed down amalgam of Hinduism & Rene Descartes that was shamelessly ripped off from Grant Morrison's Vertigo comic "The Invisibles". If you would like to see the same story told intricately and intelligently, go to your local comic store and look for the trade paperback collected editions. The only shame is that Matrix came out be fore he finished and he changed the ending because he didn't want people to think it was a case of him apeing them.

Ladydyke, the problem is that they're NOT entertaining very well!

Yeah Kirby but you realize most of the users of this website are at the high end of the IQ scale. There's obviously a lotta ppl who were plenty entertained by Spiderman otherwise it wouldn't have made so much money when it first came out. We can't judge everyone by our standards, because most of them would fail miserably.

Well at least not all action movies are like that. I'm a fan of Bond movies myself, particularly the last 3, with Pierce Brosnan. They're believable(to an extent), entertaining, and are rarely ever cheesy.
