Note: in my experience, PF usually works better in IE. That's not your problem, but I just thought I'd give you a friendly hint, teehee.

I haven't posted a bug in so long, I had to go through about 200 posts--
2 things:
- The gossip messages that come from friend/enemy rankings never work for my bots, especially where you is replaced.

e.g. I have for xemote-neg 'you bother me', '...you know what I mean?' and '...don't you?' and when one is pulled for gossip, the results are 'BotX bother me', '...BotX know what I mean?' and '...don't BotX?'.

I guess the only solution as things are is to word all my emotional responses to work for both Xemote and gossip.
-I tried a couple of tuimes to start another bot and I got saged every time.

Lister- I found the problem you and another user are having with your bot. You're putting way future years in as the birthday, like 2155 or 3333, and the database doesnt like it. Use something between 1900 and 2078 and it'll work.

Mitchel- I can still make advances, but not the revolutionary kind I had been working on, with actual sentence comprehension and all the features that follow with that. A dedicated server would help, faster CPUs would help, and other things I cant afford.

Shady- comments and whitespace has been removed for the most part.

Rex- try again creating the new bot now.. maybe the date thing was causing the error for you as well? And for the gossip, that was a part of the advanced system I abandoned.. it wont work right until I can get that up again.

hey rex, what i figure we'll have to do for that is "Ya know you are a really cool guy?" so it'll turn out to be "Ya know BotX (is) a really cool guy?"

On another note... Favorites?
Bot1: I just have to ask - what's your favourite school subject?
Bot2: My database shows that my favorite school subject is crammer.

Crammer? you mean Grammar?

But he's apparently not very good at "Crammer".

Teehee!

I know a lot of people aren't using universal plug-ins, but I've really been trying to push the randomly generated sentences lately and have used a bunch of them. One thing I've noticed is that '(typeof-NOUN-n)s' usually works but often returns 2 options like 'there are a lot of people, peoples that would agree'.

Prof, I'd be willing to put up with those times, but i don't know, what are the 29 and 30 seconds for?

22 years ago #1557
Well, those times don't sound all that much longer, but actually it means that every conversation will only have half to a third as many exchanges. The bots will stay on for the same amount of time, but since the conversations take three times longer, they'll have to break off long before they would have normally.

Hmmm, the response that GH gives is one of his math responses. What triggered it (other than the number 20) and what is he calculating?

M: Geez. My bot has 20 responses in his x-none keyword.
GH: You think I'm a bot? 18. :-P

I think it was trying to find one of those "if I had 10 apples..."

stuff it could pick up:
my * has
20
x
none
