Linloth you have a good idea, but on the other hand the xfav method is mostly comprehensible already. Here are some lines I tried on my bot:

You: what is your favorite food?
Bot: My favorite food is dika bread.

You: what is your favorite car?
Bot: My favorite car is a hatchback. (is that even a type of car??)

You: who is your favorite singer?
Bot: My favorite singer is a yodeller.

So at least the xfav way makes some kind of sense.

Nope, the goto does not work. And when you get to myfav (by just typing myfav, duh) the type and specific dont work!

The thing I dont like about (type) and (specific) is the randomness. Its only realistic when the human brain is as forgetful as a bot.

so here's another approach: social engineering. Get the human to type some other word than favorite. Think of it as a "soft goto"

That's brilliant, but how do you propose to get the human to do that? I mean, 'favorite' is a pretty common word.

Yes, a hatchback is a kind of car

soc. eng. usually requires a story, and if its emotional it works better than if its logical. I'm just testing it now... hang on

huh? I'm lost.

Well, I'm not impressed with myself, yet.

If you want to witness my failure, my bot is Moses. Go ask him about his favorites.

I believe we've previously established that the automated favorites bypass keyphrases with the word "favorite" in them.

Eugene, do you think that could be changed? By the Professor I mean, not by us. I would like some way to determine my bot's favorites, because I believe it would add to the credibility of her personality.

James, nice try I just talked to Moses, hehe.

Thanks Cloudy. I also wonder what the Professor thinks of our "favourite needs".

I was lucky that Little Mu sidestepped the favorite brand of computer question. She has a number of responses that would have indicated she liked the brand "brand" (as many did), but happened to answer "I never met a brand of computer I didn't like." Acceptable, I guess.
