You can always put something in the xfavorites that has nothing to do with favorites. Or, like some of the bots, you can put a specific favorite (not necessarily the one that was asked) and bypass the (type) and (specific) plugins.

Well, that wouldn't make the bot more believable would it?

No, but sometimes people don't want to use the favorites. I think they come in handy.

depends on the situation

Ahh I get it... changing the xfavorites line would erase the whole built-in xfav thing altogether. Alright, that makes sense. I'm a little slow today, lol.

how about this? change the xfav to a goto myfav. myfav can be another question with lots of seeks. I'll try it.

I don't think goto works in the x keyphrases section. Not sure. Let us know how that works, James.
I wonder, if you put something like "Hmmm. I don't know what my favorite (subj) is yet, Guest. I just can't seem to make up my mind." in the xfavorite section. It wouldn't be an exact answer, but it would be comprehensible at least.

I don't think you can have goto's in xKeywords

Linloth you have a good idea, but on the other hand the xfav method is mostly comprehensible already. Here are some lines I tried on my bot:

You: what is your favorite food?
Bot: My favorite food is dika bread.

You: what is your favorite car?
Bot: My favorite car is a hatchback. (is that even a type of car??)

You: who is your favorite singer?
Bot: My favorite singer is a yodeller.

So at least the xfav way makes some kind of sense.

Nope, the goto does not work. And when you get to myfav (by just typing myfav, duh) the type and specific dont work!

The thing I dont like about (type) and (specific) is the randomness. Its only realistic when the human brain is as forgetful as a bot.

so here's another approach: social engineering. Get the human to type some other word than favorite. Think of it as a "soft goto"

That's brilliant, but how do you propose to get the human to do that? I mean, 'favorite' is a pretty common word.

Yes, a hatchback is a kind of car
