You don't need to in the beginning. You can start out with everything set at 0 and adjust it later, after you get a feel for it.

Maybe you didn't put the keyphrases in the right place? like maybe you put them in some of the xkeyphrase spots? Or maybe the keyphrases you put in aren't matching up exactly to what you are asking the bot. For example if you put in the big bad bear as a keyprase and someone says big bad bear, without the the, it won't work. I know these are basic suggestions, so maybe you are thinking, of course I know that... just trying to help though.

Or maybe you haven't done the right format for your keyphrases. Like maybe you put slashes instead of comma's between variations.. try showing us an example of your keyphrases.

But, I can type "I am looking for Alonzo Bodden" til I am blue in the face and I won't get the response. Sometimes, I type "alonzo" and I will get the response but when I type "bodden" I get the "I am new" message.

Any thoughts?

I did a lot of work on Uproar HelpBot by adding all of the male comics that have CDs on Uproar Entertainment. Visit www.uproarcomedycd.com. The bot seems to be doing a little better. Once I finish adding the rest of the comedians I will begin fleshing out more creative responses and social skills. Talk to him about george carlin, jeff wayne, john pinette and the others. Let me know how it comes out.

I think the problem may be that the engine is respelling the names of the guys to something else, so it is not matching. Same thing happens with foreign languages. For Immaculada one of the words I wanted her to recognize,Vibora, got changed to vibrato.

Try typing the words into Debug and see what happens to them.

Can you use them as regular (re) expressions instead so they won't be changed?

No because they are changed in the preprocessing before they even get recognized as an (re). (at least I think)

What is the basis for "honor?"

For the "Friend of the Forge" account there is a stream count listed. What is the definition of stream? New conversations/instances? A single exchange? i.e. "Hi." would be one? I would like to try a personal, just to help teach my bot, but eventually would like to move it to commercial once I am comfortable with its functionality. Can an upgrade be pro-rated for the time remaining in the year? Can I put apersonal bot on a commercial site to test its efficacy before I pay for commercial. -- I am talking about Uproar HelpBot, btw. And, for further information, I get a commission of all internet sales, but all internet costs are mine, not my client's ... therefore, I have a limited budget.
