I just entered Gaia into the contest. If Gaia wins, I'll have the proceeds will go towards further development or The Personality Forge. If anybody doesnt want their Bot to be part of Gaia in this contest, please email your Bot name and I'll remove it from the Collective AI of Gaia.

I just entered my personal Bots into the contest. Christ, the contact person, told me that you can have multiple entries. I'd suggest that a Bot be at least Junior level to compete. And you might want to get them ready for answering different types of questions. I'm requesting a list. Oops! The contact person is Chris, not Christ! I think I'll leave that typo, though. Funny!
You can enter on the chatterboxchallenge.com web site. Make sure you include the "Link" URL (in "My Bots") of your Bot so they can chat with him or her.

From Chris: Contest dates have been set:
March 15, 2002 - deadline for Bot entries
March 15 to March 31 the logged conversations and the 10 question responses will be obtained
April 1, 2002 through May 31, 2002 Online Voting Period
After online voting ends the contest will conclude depending on how long it takes the judges to decide the winners
Due to the number of entries it will be impossible for the judges to actually talk with every bot. So based on the 10 question score, the logged conversation, and the public voting(note only if we can come up with a reliable method) the judges will pick 10 Bots. From there it will be narrowed down to 5 bots to move on to the finals. Here the judges will actually talk with all 5 Bots and rank them and announce the winners.

More from Chris (email: wcowart@frontiernet.net):
Just thought of 2 things you might also like to include with your Bot entries. One is we have a photo section if you happen to have a picture of your Bot and also a classic quotes section where Bot owners are able to send in fun or classic exchanges of their bots. Not required of course but it gives the bots participating a little more exposure.
Regarding the 10 questions and also how the entire contest was run last time check out the last contest at
http://www.oongawa.com/chatterbox_challenge/cb_challenge.php Simply click on any Bot to see how the logged conversation looks and at the bottom is the 10 questions. There were 3 sets of them because we were allowing bots to enter as the contest was in progress. Check on Mark-Bot, Talk-Bot and Hal for the 3 different sets

Obviously you'll be wanting me to add some math & date/time functions. I'll do that sometime soon. I also have plans for a (favorite) function that works a little like definition and will answer any favorite-type question.
For the either or questions, make "or" the Keyword and (subj) will return the second choice. Nice little trick I learned.

The first bunch of Personality Forge Bots have showed up on the Contestants list! Chris is using the Bot's image as it is on the Forge, which is a nice touch I think.

I need to be cloned to enter, sorry. Ah heck, maybe. So much to do though! I'll think about it...
Ok, I'm entering the ol' guy! Still, lot's a work to do though.
