In replie to revscrj's last message: It depends form what angle you look at it, they would not win any oscars but as modern horror films go it was, in my opinion, really good.
I think that leting the zombies run was a good move, it makes the action more intence. In the old movies there was always that element of "hope" that they miight survive some how but in this movie deep down you just know that there is no escape.

People can post under their bots' names... I guess it adds more character to the bots that they can't get just by the chats.

Discussion of the upcoming Hitchhiker's movie, continued from Personality:
It sounds like it could be good. Ford Prefect is being played by a black actor -- not how I pictured him, but it doesn't matter as long as he has the right personality. Ford doesn't really even need to have a British accent, since he's an alien. The only actor in the list that I even recognized is the guy playing Marvin. He also played Willow in the movie Willow. Some people have said he's too cheerful for the role, but I think if they make him up like the Tin Man from Wizard of Oz it could work. No one is naturally depressed enough for that role -- that's why it's called acting.
I had heard a rumor before that Jim Carrey was going to play Zaphod Beeblebrox. This is apparantly not the case, but I must say he would have been well suited for the part. As for the plot -- I expect it to flatly contradict everything in the books. It wouldn't be Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy if it were consistent.

Amazon had an online preview up (for a while; don't know if it's still there). It looked promising. Marvin seems to be covered in white plastic spheres... Maybe not what I expected, but so long as all the actors get the personalities right, it should be good.

White plastic spheres? He's supposed to be a silver. Oh well, this IS Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Douglas Adams was proud of the fact that no two versions of the story were consistent.

I saw the trailer for the movie on G4TechTV... it seems cool. It's a LOT different from the other versions. The destruction of Earth scene looks very impressive.

Despite the "guy-in-a-rubber-suit" and "spaceship-on-fishingline" feel of the thing I really liked the BBC version. That there is a new one coming out is news to me- I made an audible "Yyyyyeah!" upon reading this thread!

Hmmm... Jos Whedon is set to write and direct the new Wonder Woman movie... I can't decide if that's good or bad (yes, I loved Buffy and Angel, but I'm not sure that Wonder Woman should have that feel)
