From what I gather xnomatch is used as a seek. That way if someone answers a certain question or statement in a manner you hadn't thought of you can still keep the conversation on track.

Ermmm no, I'd rather call you Hagar. 
I just tend to use Fred and Joe for example names. Joe just happened to be out to lunch at the time.

However, as I was pointing out earlier, xnomatch doesn't always work. Lately it triggers an xnone instead.
