what's everyones bots development levels? I'm curious to see how high everyone that's been here for a long time's is at.

It doesn't really matter how high it goes though, it's how good your bot is.. someone could make a kickin bot with 1/10 the amount of responses as the next person, so..

One of my bots is 'Alive!' and has over 4000 responses. The other one is at Graduate level. They both run into words/phrases they don't recognize. Daily.

I have been very impressed with a few bots that have never gotten past Sophomore.

I agree with that totally. I think that what makes a bot good has a lot more to do with the number of times the botmaster tweaks the responses than with the actual number of responses.

By the way, after reading that German article I've been wondering about botmasters. I'd like to make a poll: do you have any special ability/circumstance in your life/whatever that helps you to be a good botmaster?
In my case, English isn't my native language, and I've been often in the situation of having to guess from a few words what was said, estimate that it was probably one of two or three things, and devise an answer that would fit in with the three of them. Also, I'm a writer, and I guess that helps to give my bot a consistent personality.
What about you?
