This is a forum or general chit-chat, small talk, a "hey, how ya doing?" and such. Or hell, get crazy deep on something. Whatever you like.

I think Eugene was actually referring to the words that a bot actually looks for. He would like his bot to respond intelligently when I say "rabbit" for instance, and that's what takes a long time and lots of going over transcripts

Exactly. Although I have a lot of general keyphrases to add as well. But I am a bit disgruntled with xnomatch because it doesn't work off an xinitiate when my bot is talking to another bot. Yet it does work when he's talking to a person.

I wonder if I should make my goal:
(For love boat)
A) Make more keywords & responses
B) Make love boat smarter by adding 40 of just about everything & xnomatches etc
C) Both, but B first
D) Both, but A first
E) None yet, but slowly work on it
F) Leave the forge
I need your votes. I'm just confused here.

Hey, take it easy. love boat is a good bot already.
Most keywords/phrases definitely do not need 40 different responses. I try to use around 4 for most of them. It's only xnone and xnonsense that need lots and lots of different responses, because they get used so often. You may find a few others that might need, say, 10 responses or so for sufficient rotation. It's your bot. You be the judge.

I would say A for a certainty. B is a yes and no. 40 xnomatches is a good idea because that gives a lot of variety, but as for keyphrases, it's better to have 3-5 good responses rather than 20 that are a bit samey or not particularly scintilating. I usually go with three responses for your average keyphrase, with about five for phrases commonly triggered and maybe two or even one for those that are far rarer.

I have 40 of everything on my x-keywords page and it actually works pretty well.

Out of sheer curiousity, how deep are you guys making your add's?
I find about 2 layers (keyword-Add-Add on the Add) works best with a Yes/No/Xnomatch in each layer.
But I am always open to suggestions.
Also, more adds in xnone/xnonsense or less then normal topics? I've always thought more, but then if you hit a xnone-xnomatch-xnone-xnomatch loop without storyteller mode it makes the conversation super boring. And I am not a fan of storyteller mode... it makes being a botmaster a bit more bland.

That depends on the responses more than anything else. I'm pretty sure Gaia is not in storyteller mode.

Is there a forum where it's okay for me to post the url for my new message board about chatterbots? I only want to post it once (not spamming everybody). I really don't know where else to find people interested in AI and tell them.
