It's just that you say the same stuff constantly Kirby --sounds like complaints. You may not mean it to. But the Professor I'm sure has other concerns than only working on this site, like earning a living and having a life. If he could make money running this site, and you were a paying subscriber, I think such criticisms would be more in line, and he'd be happy to deal with them!

I think you've previously expressed what it is you dislike about the chat system and suggested models that you feel work better. Calling it crappy day after day is not calculated to be polite, and it's not calculated to make the Professor feel like this is a fun hobby.

How long would it take him to "fix" the chat system? Why not email him and then pay him the hourly rate he charges for his web design business. Or take up a collection for it.

I've said many times that I'd like to donate, but I don't have a credit card. Also, your definition of constant complaining seems to be very strange, because I'm pretty damn sure I mentioned it just then and maybe twice last month. That is not constant.

If you really want to donate, I suppose the Professor can accept cheques. Or whatever. I'm sure that if you tell him you want to give him money, he'll be happy to make things as easy as possible for you.

About chatting with your own bots: I think it's only worth it to do it in debug mode, when you want to find out why it gave a certain reply. I think it's a lot more interesting to look at the transcripts of your bots. After all, if you feel like chatting with a bot, there are plenty of other bots to choose from!

Is debug mode faster?

Not sure. I have the impression that it's faster, but maybe it's because you get more information and you are digesting it while you wait.

Debug is actually pretty slow, especially when your bot has 2000 or so responses. But at least you can tell when a keyphrase is what's bugging your bot out, cuz it'll give you a weird bug in debug.

2000? Geez. NotKirby only has like 1015.

I suppose it must be explained somewhere, but what the hell is honor? Did the Professor ever say how it's calculated?

22 years ago #687
I've been wondering about that, too. Maybe it has something to do with how many of your bots' phrases get used by Gaia? That's what I'm thinking.

22 years ago #688
It definitely has a lot to do with the number of responses your bot has. Take a look at his/her honor, then add one phrase and look again.

The professor keeps the "secret formula" under lock and key... I already tried getting it from him No Luck

It actually has a lot to do with phrases, experience, how well liked it is, etc.

What I find strange is that Gaia, that must have more responses than any other bot by definition, has an honor of only 85. Any theories to explain that?
And if honor has to do with the number of phrases that get used by Gaia, how does Gaia decide which phrases to copy? I more or less assumed that after your bot passed some level, Gaia copies all its responses. Does anybody know differently?
